Gravitate launches Photographer Janet Killeen's website
Photojournalist takes her portfolio of global photography online
VANCOUVER, WA - June 7, 2004 – Gravitate Design Studio, a Portland web development company, today launched the professional website for Janet Killeen, a photographer specializing in subjects of global impact.
"Janet Killeen is truly passionate about what she does," said Cyndi Nguyen, Director of Web Design at Gravitate. "She wanted a website that would not only showcase her photos, but also convey the power and social relevance of her work. We decided to keep the design clean understated in order to let her photography speak for itself."
In addition to custom website design, Gravitate created custom Flash animation to add interest and sophistication to the site.
"It was refreshing to work with someone with such an artistic eye," added Arune Suvanvej, Designer for Gravitate. "The challenge was to do something very edgy and unique, but not allow the design to overpower the photography. The site's navigation is unconventional, but inherently intuitive. It's the perfect balance of appeal and ease-of-use."
