Gravitate Launches Website for EMCI Entertainment
Recording label finds hip-hop style with new website
SEATTLE, WA - July 18, 2005 – Today, Gravitate Design Studio, a web and print design firm, launched the website for EMCI Entertainment, a Seattle-based recording label that represents hip-hop and R&B artists. The distinctly urban feel of the site is a marriage of street sensibilities and good usability.
"EMCI is trying to attract high-caliber talent to its label, so the site had to be credible but with some edge to it," said Cyndi Nguyen, Gravitate's Creative Director. "We went for a raw, urban vibe by using graphical elements like dripping spray paint and photos that mimic street posters. The site overall, however, is very intuitive to navigate and use."
EMCI intends to expand its featured artists area of the site as new artists are signed on. Currently, this area feature Life of the Guardian pictures and audio.
