    We’ve been gallivanting through the halls in running shoes, on skateboards, atop scooters, and sporting reindeer antlers, but on a hot Wednesday afternoon, the Gravitate team resolved to dripping wet clothes and varying emotions between excitement and fear-driven anxiety. We took on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness for Lou Gehrig’s Disease, a debilitating neurodegenerative disease currently affecting approximately 30,000 Americans and their families. The setup consisted of three buckets, three 20lb bags of ice, twelve towels, a kiddy-pool, and sixteen restless team members. As part of the challenge, Gravitate donated $10 for every employee who volunteered to have a bucket of ice water dumped on his or her head.

    Here’s where it gets better.

    We challenge three other agencies: Ambient, DelMain Analytics, and GatherContent. For every employee that participates in the challenge, we will match $5 to the running total. Of course we require video evidence. We look forward to seeing your wet, frigid faces in the near future. The Ice Bucket Challenge is a way to raise awareness of ALS, otherwise known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Participants take a video of themselves dumping ice water on their head and donate $10, or they donate $100 and opt out of the misery. They then go on to nominate other participants to keep spreading ALS awareness across the world.
